HLX300ex Series Humidity Transmitter for Intrinsically Safe Applications
The HLX300Ex humidity/temperature transmitter ensures safe operation in explosive atmospheres and meets the requirements of the ATEX directives for intrinsically safe equipment. The device can therefore be used in both gas and dust explosive atmospheres.
The 2-part housing design simplifies the installation of the humidity transmitter and the quick replacement of the meter, without needing to re-wire. This means the HLX300Ex can be used directly in an explosive atmosphere in zones 0/20.
The elegant, easy-to-clean stainless steel housing is an important feature for use in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The humidity sensor technology, proven for many years, provides reliable measurements with long-term stability in complex industrial applications. A wall-mounted model, a version with a remote measuring probe up to 10m, or an optional display make the HLX300Ex humidity sensor versatile in use. The device is designed with 2-wire technology and power can be supplied by any intrinsically safe power supply. Measurements are output on 2 analog outputs from 4 to 20 mA, which can be easily changed by the user for the desired measurement application.
In addition to relative humidity and temperature measurements, the HLX300Ex humidity transmitter provides all standard calculated values, such as dew point temperature [Td], wet bulb temperature [Tw], absolute humidity [dv], etc.
Humidity measurement in oil:
Similar to humidity measurement in air, the HLX300Ex can also be used for humidity measurement in oil. The moisture content of an oil can be expressed in absolute terms (ppm) or relative terms (aw). Typical applications for humidity measurement in oil are oil cleaning/drying systems or oil rigs for online monitoring of lubricating and gear oils.
