Differential Pressure Gauge PM Series

Differential Pressure Gauge with Pressure Transducers

Differential pressure gauge with transducers: what are pressure transducers? Pressure transducers for differential pressure gauges are electronic measuring instruments capable of converting applied pressure into an electrical signal, either voltage or current, which can be easily recorded, transmitted, and processed. Typically, pressure is applied to an appropriate surface, generating a force that in turn produces the deformation of an elastic element: this is the measured variable to obtain the detectable pressure difference by the instrument. Various methods are possible for measuring deformation to detect differential pressure through the gauge or pressure variation:

  • strain gauge transducers
  • capacitive
  • inductive
  • differential transformer
  • with piezoelectric effect using quartz or semiconductors

These various methods for detecting differential pressure influence both the precision and the electronics required for power supply and eventual amplification, as well as the cost of the transducer and thus the cost of the differential pressure gauge. The digital differential pressure gauge of the PM20 series (190.00 euros) and PM80 uses the capacitive transducer. To build capacitive differential transducers, it must be considered that they must be particularly sensitive to very small pressure differences and are often used for industrial applications that have large line pressure values. In the case of the differential pressure gauge of the PM series, the design of the sensitive membrane detects the movement generated by the pressure and converts the signal into direct current in proportion to its stress.

A sensitive membrane constitutes the movable armature of a differential capacitance; the movement is converted into a direct current signal proportional to its stress; this is the measured variable. Using capacitive transducers in the digital differential pressure gauge eliminates errors of variations between scale gradations due to temperature variation or fluid variation due to temperature variation in older non-digital differential pressure gauges.

Digital differential pressure gauge: differential pressure measurement is temperature compensated for precise readings: PM-80 series

The PM20 series differential pressure gauge is specifically designed to meet the current demand for quality and cost savings in the HVAC professional field. PM differential pressure gauges are low-cost gauges, specially made for technical operators; thanks to the double hose connector, they are ideal for heavy-duty use in testing and adjusting gas boiler differential pressure.

The differential pressure gauges we sell are made of ABS plastic, are waterproof, and supplied with a rubber shell to ensure greater protection during use.

Digital differential pressure gauges for HVAC applications can be positioned with a magnet for ease of use, and the backlit LCD display allows data visualization even in low light conditions. The PM series differential gauges replace conventional U-tube manometers, providing a quick and accurate response, all at a very accessible price.

The PM20 differential pressure gauge reports pressure measurement expressed in mbar, while the PM-80 differential pressure gauge has a button for selecting engineering units (see table).
