GF2 Building Moisture Meter

Handling / measuring procedure

After switching on the unit, select the characteristic curve corresponding to the material to be measured on the measuring unit (e.g. screed). Make sure that the surface of the screed is smooth (without protruding parts or impurities) so that the sensor surface of the measuring device can lie flat on the screed. If this is not the case, the surface can be scraped with a clean spatula or chisel and then swept with a broom. The measuring device can now be placed on the screed and pressed onto the surface with moderate pressure. The water content is immediately shown on the display.

By taking several measurements in different areas of the screed, the average water content can be determined immediately. It is also possible to detect damp spots.

The measurement values can be stored on the device, additional information such as the batch number can be added. Via the optional USB interface, the measurement values can be transferred to a PC and the data can be archived, exported, processed or printed using appropriate software.

CM measurement

Many people still use a CM measurement when they want to measure the moisture content of the screed. However, this method of determining the moisture content of the screed offers almost no advantages and mainly has major disadvantages. On the one hand, the CM measurement is expensive and impractical to use, which does not make the daily routine on construction sites easier. On the other hand, only a small area can be studied with the CM measurement, which is very laborious. Another factor is the inaccuracy of the CM measurement, because who can confirm that the conversion from CM measurement to water content is correct?

To avoid all these problems, the humimeter GF2 moisture meter was developed to determine the moisture content of the screed without CM measurement. The fast and non-destructive measurement allows you to test a large area in a short time by placing the moisture meter on the ground and reading the water content from the display. Therefore, you can use the GF2 moisture meter to determine the moisture content of the screed without the need for expensive CM measurements.
